Coffee Houses

We have two coffee houses which operate out of the cafeteria at Richmond City Hall (6911 No. 3 Road – cross street is Granville Avenue).

One is on Tuesdays from 1 pm to 3 pm and the other is on Fridays at the same time.

Participants are given a $2 coupon to purchase a drink of their choice or a baked good. The caterer is “The Butler Did It” and the system of coupons seems to work out well.

The coffee house is a very popular activity as it encourages socialization and decreases isolation. Board games and cards are also played.

A coffee house host is present to help people feel welcome and to make sure things run smoothly.

A separate coffee house, run by the Recreation program takes place at the Richmond Mental Health team on Monday mornings from 10 am - 11am.
